Holding the Yarn

To crochet you hold the hook in you right hand and the yarn in your left.

Hold your left hand out flat in front of you palm facing down. Using the tail end of the yarn bring it up between your little finger and ring finger. Wrap the yarn over your little finger.

Bring the yarn under your ring and middle fingers and over your index finger

When you crochet lift your index finger up and down to keep the tension of the yarn as you make the stitches.
